If you have never worked with an interior designer you may be curious about the steps involved. No matter your design style or color palette each project follows a basic pattern. Every job is catered to meet individual needs; however, the following outlines a general course of action.
Our first meeting with you at your home or business to access the scope of work.
Define your needs, desires, and budget. Set terms of an agreement. Develop your preferred design style and color preferences.
Measure spaces, evaluate, and interpret how you want to live in each space. This is the creative process. Design a space plan, drawings, elevations, material selections (stone, tile, paint colors, furnishings, fabrics, etc.)
Exactly that…meeting with you to present the design using color boards, samples, and pictures for your approval.
Upon approval of the design presented products are ordered or consultation of construction commences. This is the behind the scenes work where there is less interaction between us (the designer and client).
This stage focuses on lighting, rugs, artwork, and table top items. It’s possible that this can be a stand-alone process if accessories are all that you are seeking for your design completion or it can be an additional phase of design with a larger project. The design and selection process generally follows the steps above; design, presentation, implementation and installation.
Once all of the furnishings have been delivered to our warehouse we prefer to have a “Grand Finale” where the window treatments are installed, the furnishings delivered and all of the accessories are placed. Installing everything at one time has the greatest reward or “wow” factor.
